Center for Excellence in Local Government
Empowering Berks County communities through education, collaboration, and excellence in local government in partnership with the Berks County Water & Sewer Association.

Who we are
Empowering Leaders.
Strengthening Communities.
Driving Governance.
The Center for Excellence in Local Government (CELG) is a trusted partner to Berks County’s municipal leaders, communities, and public service professionals. Founded in 1994 at Albright College, CELG brings together local government, higher education, and the private sector to build stronger leadership and a stronger county.
For more than 30 years — and across more than 8,000 program participants — CELG has been the region’s home for municipal education, intergovernmental cooperation, and practical support for the communities we all call home.
